Cycling Visionaries Awards - Velo City 2013: ECF

Velo-city 2013 in Vienna is offering 20 free tickets and a chance to speak at the world’s largest cycling conference. They’re looking to recognise young visionaries working in the field of cycling.

Velo-city Vienna 2013 has launched the “Cycling Visionaries Awards Programme” which is seeking to award ideas and projects covering all fields related to urban cycling.

In particular, conference organizers are seeking individuals and initiatives that are still in their early stages, and they’re especially looking for people 30 and under to apply. Those that win the award will not only get a free ticket, but they’ll  also be part of the official conference programme, with a chance to talk on stage.

At the moment, there are only 20 awards available, so there will be some tough competition. Yet a chance to speak at one of the cycling policy world’s most prestigious events is well worth the time and effort.

“Velo-city is the place to be if you want to be among the best and brightest in the cycling world,” says Raimund Stabauer, who manages the Velo-city series.

“This is a great opportunity for some of the young movers and shakers in the cycling world to have their say.”

Velo-city Vienna is expected to attract over 1,000 cycling and transport experts from around the globe for four days of intense cycling discussions. Speakers already tabled up to talk include Janette Sadik Khan, New York’s Transport Commissioner, Alain Flausch, the head of the UITP, and Mikael Colville Andersen of Copenhagenize, to name but a few.
